An investigation into a home invasion in Thorold has led to the discovery of an elaborate Anabolic Steroid manufacturing operation.
Police say 15 thousand capsules of various types of Anabolic Steroids and testosterone, along with over one thousand containers of liquid forms of the two drugs were found inside the residence.
A preliminary estimate has the drugs valued at 250 thousand dollars.
Charged with various drug related offences are 26 year old Nizar Bushusha and 27 year old Corey McKay, both of Thorold.
The two are being held in custody as they wait for a bail hearing.
Yesterday, NRP responded to the single family dwelling on Deerfield Parkway in response to a reported home invasion.
The initial investigation revealed that two armed men broke into the home and confronted two male occupants.
The occupants were able to call police, but the suspects fled before cops arrived.
In the process of clearing the residence police discovered evidence of an illicit drug manufacturing operation in the basement of the house.
Police continue to investigate.
