Theft investigation turns into drug bust

Some plain clothes police officers investigating a break and enter at a St. Catharines apartment, got more than they bargained for when they were approached by a woman asking them if they wanted to buy some crack cocaine.

It happened yesterday at a Queenston Street apartment, police were looking into the theft of some power tools when the woman walked up to them and told them she could arrange for a man to deliver some suspected crack to them.

They were then approached by a male suspect who asked them if they were the ones who wanted to buy some drugs.

He showed them a small quantity of crack, and was promptly arrested.

Police also managed to recover most of the stolen items.

Charged with Break and enter, 23 year old Brian Davies and 48 year old Edith Price

Charged with  trafficking in cocaine, 34 year old Jamey McLachlan and 39 year old David St. Germain.
