A knife wielding bandit making off with a register till from a St. Catharines variety store early last night.

Police say a suspect wearing a disguise entered the Variety Food Fair on Eastchester.

He went behind the counter, which was unattended, and took the register till before fleeing the store.

A customer and employee followed the suspect out, when he pulled out a knife and threatened them with it.

He fled the scene in a red 1999 Ford Taurus that has been reported stolen earlier in the day.

Anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
