A Fort Erie man facing charges tied to what police are calling a historic sexual assault.

The offences date back to the summer of 2009, reported to police in January.

The 45 year old man is facing a number of charges, including sexual assault and sexual exploitation.

He won't be identified to protect the identity of the then 14 year old victim.
