Harry the lab is coming home today after being attacked by two other dogs earlier this week in St. Catharines.

The eight year old lab was savagely attacked by two pitbulls while out for a walk with his owner's boyfriend.

A group of residents on Carlton Street went to the dog's aid and pulled one of the pitbulls off of him.

Owner Liz Rolston says one of Harry's rescuers then took the dog to a nearby vet clinic.

He received severe injuries to one leg.

Thanks to the generosity of St. Catharines residents, Liz who is a student at Niagara College says they raised more than 3 thousand dollars though the website indiegogo which will pay for Harry's surgery and his after care.

As for the two pitbulls, they were shot and killed by police.

The incident led police to the discovery of a residential marijuana grow op and the arrest of a 34 year old man.
