Wainfleet the scene of a symposium today dealing with the wind farm issue.

Wainfleet Mayor April Jeffs says representatives from about 30 municipalities are attending the Rural and Small Urban Green Energy Symposium.

Mayor Jeffs says all the muncipalities have one thing in common, they want the province to declare a moritorium on any further wind farm development until municipal concerns can be addressed.

She says they will attempt to come up with a joint resolution stating the province needs to take a second look at its green energy policy.

Jeffs noting just pulling this many municipalites together is an accomplishment in itself.

She says the focus now can turn to collaboration and finding a way to protect their muncipalities from further wind farm development until all health and safety concerns are addressed.
