Niagara Regional Police have charged a Niagara Falls man for allegedly starting a fire outside a motel room on Lundy's Lane.

Police and fire responded to a report of a blaze early this morning only to find it extinguished by the occupants when they arrived on the scene.

An investigation revealed that the fire had been intentionally set.

Charged with arson is 36 year John Kovacs of Niagara Falls.

Kovacs is being held in custody pending a bail hearing set for tomorrow morning at ten in St. Catharines.
