Police investigating NHS threat

2/27/2013

Niagara Regional Police are on the hunt for a suspect after a clerk at a local hospital was allegedly threathened.

Police were called to the Hotel Dieu on Ontario Street this morning after a man entered the hospital, and allegedly confronted the lone clerk of a small catering shop with a handgun before exiting.

Police now say the incident was not an intended robbery, but that the clerk was specifically sought out by the suspect, for a matter unrelated to the hospital.  No one was injured.

The suspect is described as male, Hispanic, 20 to 25 years of age, 5’10” tall, medium build, with short, dark, curly hair.  The suspect was wearing a black, ¾ length coat, with a fur lined hood and white patches on the shoulders.

Anyone with information should call police or Crime Stoppers.
