St. Catharines council to hold final budget debate
It's budget night at St. Catharines city council.
Councillors will vote on the 2013 operating budget which includes a 2.74 percent spending increase.
As it now stands, home owners will pay 74 dollars more on the city portion of their property tax bill which translates to 3 thousand 127 dollars for the average house assessed at 209 thousand dollars.
Residents can still weigh in on the spending plan.
A public meeting is set to begin at 6:30 before council debates and then votes on the budget.
