Should Thorold contract out its fire services to the city of St. Catharines?
That's an issue city officials will be grappling with over the next few months.
Mayor Ted Luciani says the city hired a group to look into fire department operations and the possibility of having St. Catharines fire take over duties in his city.
Luciani says its too early to determine how much money the city would save.
He adds they have yet to enter into any talks with St. Catharines fire.
Luciani says its part of an overall review of every department in an effort to find ways to save money.
The Mayor admits he's not proud of the tax increases they've had to bring in over the last three years and wants to find ways to bring spending in line.
