Police nabbing a 23 year old Welland man accused of eluding police for over eight months, after a high speed chase through the Rose City. 

Officers received a tip from Kingston police about a stolen Chrysler Intrepid from their city that may have been headed to the Niagara Region.

Police spotted the car on Corvette Street in Welland.

As they were waiting for backup to arrive, several people got into the vehcile and sped away.

A three kilometre pursuit ensued ending on East Main Street.

23 Year old Joshua Shoup, who was wanted on three outstanding warrants, has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime, dangerous driving, resisting arrest and breach of probation.
