Niagara Region is considering a complete renovation of council chambers.
Word of the proposed 1.6 million dollar renovation comes at a time when council spending has been making headlines.
Niagara Falls Mayor Jim Diodati defends the expenditure telling 610 CKTB's Tom McConnell there are a number of problems with the council chamber.
He says the chamber is not handicapped accessible and not just for those with physical limitations, but for those who may be either visually or hearing impaired as well.
The Mayor adding its also important to make a good impression when council is hosting out of town developers who are thinking of setting up shop in the region.
