The Niagara Region losing another top manager.

Corporate administration director Mike Weir has accepted a position with the Ontario Ministry of Health.

Weir is the latest manager to jump ship, former clerk Kevin Bain retired, former corporate services commissioner Brian Hutchings and deputy treasurer Bryan Boles both left to work at Brock University.

Welland councillor Peter Kormos says it appears there is a toxicity at the region, that is pushing people to accept other job offers.

and Kormos adds the region doesn't pay all that well, making it tough to retain top people.
