Canada's unemployment rate was unchanged at 7.0 per cent in February after the economy created 50,700 net new jobs.

That was far better than the 8,000 jobs that economists had expected.

Closer to home Stats Can says the jobless numbers for Niagara remained unchanged last month at 7.1 percent from the month before.

Provincially the number remained stagnant as well holding firm at 7.7 percent.
