Manitoba animal lovers are responding to the plight of a cat named Suszy.
   
The feline was shot twice in the head with a pellet gun, then beaten and left for dead on a trail in the small community of Seven Sisters Falls last weekend.
   
Suszy survived the ordeal, and now the village 90 kilometres east of Winnipeg is raising money to defray the 14-hundred dollar vet bill.
   
It's also inviting well-wishers to mail cards to the cat.
   
Donations have already reached several hundred dollars.
   
A 66-year-old man has been charged with animal cruelty.
