A petition to honour a fallen Niagara solider through a banner program downtown.

Dennis Brown, who was killed in Afghanistan back in 2009, was set to be honoured on a banner in downtown St. Catharines

Others included in the banner program include Harriet Tubman and Ron Sexsmith.

Brown's sons had nominated their father to be honoured on a banner, but his widow vetoed the idea saying Brown wouldn't want that.

That prompted Ghislaine Clouthier to start a petition on titled "St Catharines Downtown Association: Please raise the banner for Dennis Brown!"

Her goal is to get 300 signatures, 100 for each of Brown's sons.
