Working smoke alarm saves Vineland family

Working smoke alarms being credited for saving a family following a massive overnight blaze in Vineland.
The fire started just after 1am on Azalea Cres in Vineland.
Fire Chief Greg Hudson says the smoke alarm woke up the family and they were able to feel their way out through the smoke.
When crews arrived, the home was engulfed in flames and starting to spread.
Hudson says the fire spread to the house on the left, with the house on the right damaged by heat.
It took crews about an hour to get it under control.
Damage is estimated at $400 000, no word yet on the cause.
The Fire Marshall office has been called in.
