The latest federal budget is good news for the city of St. Catharines.

Included in Finance Minister Jim Flaherty's eight budget is up to five million dollars to support the rehabilitation of the Port Weller Dry Docks.
 
MP Rick Dykstra says today's budget is more proof that St. Catharines is back on the political landscape in Ottawa.

Dykstra says this is great news for the community, and the long term benefits of this investment will be huge. 

Richard Bertrand, President & CEO of Seaway Marine & Industrial Inc. says they are delighted that the Federal government has highlighted the dry docks as a strategic asset servicing the St. Lawrence Seaway and Great Lakes Marine Sector.

The announcement allows Seaway Marine and Industrial Inc. to make a long term committment to the area.
