Canada Day festivities planned for Niagara and other parts of Ontario
There are events across Niagara and Ontario today to mark Canada Day.
The big show is on Parliament Hill and will feature a performance by Carly Rae Jepsen and an appearance by Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield.
In Niagara, Market Square Canada Day Celebrations in St. Catharines features 80's band Honeymoon Suite.
It's free family family fun for everyone: 25’ Rock climbing wall, pony rides, bouncers, crafters alley, face painting, kids crafts, live entertainment and more.
Fort Erie is hosting the Friendship Festival, in West Lincoln there are Canada Day celebrations at Charles Daley Park starting at 1pm, and last until fireworks at 10pm.
In Niagara on the Lake, Fort George is offering all day free admission, a pancake breakfast, lunch time bbq at Simcoe Park, and dinner time bbq at Fort George just ahead of fireworks.
In Port Colborne you can take in the fifth annual Flavours of Niagara, food-wine and music festival at HH Knoll Park.
In Thorold there is the annual Mayors Canada Day Picnic at Beaverdams Park, while in Welland there are festivities planned at Memorial Park.
In Pelham, the 23rd annual Canada Day celebrations at Harold Black Park from 11am to 11 pm.
In Niagara Falls there are festivities planned throughout the city with fireworks over the falls at dawn.
There's also a Canada Day celebration at the Ontario legislature.
And the city of Toronto is hosting an event this evening at Mel Lastman Square in the north end.
In London there will be festivities at the Forks of the Thames while in Kingston celebrations are planned for Confederation Park.
