Ontario Safety League calling on convenience stores to stop selling illegal drug paraphernalia
The Ontario Safety League is calling on Ontario convenience stores to stop selling over the counter drug paraphernalia .
League President Brian Patterson says they have taken note of the growing trend of corner stores openly selling pipes, marijuana grinders and other drug related products.
In recent weeks, they have purchased close to 50 pieces of drug paraphernalia at stores across Ontario including St. Catharines.
Patterson adding it is irresponsible and illegal for stores to openly sell items that enable drug use right beside candy, milk and magazines.
He says it sends a message to kids that illegal drug use is acceptable.
The group has launched an online peition at notatmystore and is asking people to take to Twitter to report any stores they know of that sell drug related products.
