NRP investigate collision between transport truck and car in St. Catharines
Police continue to investigate an accident between a tractor trailer and a car Monday afternoon in St. Catharines.
The accident happened at a busy intersection when a truck carrying gravel heading southbound on Seventh Street hit a Buick Century, that missed a stop sign on Third Avenue.
According to investigators the Buick entered into the intersection, right into the path of the tractor trailer.
Police say the impact forced the car across both southbound lanes, and off the roadway.
The 92 year old driver of the Buick was taken to hospital in St. Catharines where he remains in stable condition, the 51 year old driver of the transport truck was not injured in the collision.
Niagara Regional Police continue to investigate, and are asking for witnesses to give them a call.
