Three people hit by alleged drunk driver in the Falls
Two victims of a an accident in Queen Victoria Park in Niagara Falls are in Hamilton hospitals, the victims of an alleged drunk driver.
It happened around 10pm Tuesday night, not far from the falls.
Police say a vehicle driving along the Niagara Parkway at the foot of Murray Street struck three people, a couple and their grandson visiting from Quebec.
The grandfather, a 76 year old man St-Donat, Quebec, died at the scene.
The grandmother, 75 years old, was airlifted to Hamilton General with life threatening injuries.
The grandson, 14 years old, airlifted to McMaster Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
A Niagara Falls man has been arrested and charged with impaired driving causing death and two counts of impaired driving causing bodily harm.
55 year old Edward Coop is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
