A surprise phone survey on potential candidates for St. Catharines mayor
A municipal election is 14 months away but some St. Catharines residents have reported receiving calls from a polling firm.
The robo calls to gauge public opinion on how they feel about current mayor Brian McMullan versus a possible challenge from several other potential candidates including regional councillor Alan Caslin.
McMullan tells us the poll also asked people their opinion on having city councillors do double duty as regional councillors.
The Mayor says he has no idea who funded the poll but suspects it may be the work of an unnamed political party.
