Proposed Niagara Falls zip line entering next phase of possibly becoming a reality
The Niagara Parks Commission is moving forward with plans of erecting a possible zip line within the parks.
NPC staff will now undertake the next phase of the procurement process.
They will work with the preferred builder, Niagara Adventure Excursions, to come up with business plans, and designs for the proposed aerial adventure sites.
They include the NPC’s Rapidsview and Thompson Point sites, as well as the two zip line locations proposed for the Aero Car to Thompson Point and Boat Plaza to Ontario Power Generating Plant locations.
Before any final decisions are made, it is expected further public consultations will occur to seek input into the proposed site plans which are to be developed.
According to NPC’s Chair, “today’s decision will further the staff work needed to ensure this program is a viable one and one which is done in a manner that ensures public input is taken into account and valued.”
The decision to proceed to the next step comes following two recent public information centres and a two week on-line consultation process.
Niagara Adventure Excursions was picked as the preferred buildre following two public consultations and a review by NPC staff in the fall of 2012.
