Buffalo Wing Fest set for this weekend
Fans of Buffalo's famous chicken wings will be in heaven this Labour Day weekend.
The National Buffalo Chicken Wing Festival will feature 100 different varieties of wings, live music and of course a wing eating contest.
Organizor Drew Cerza says the idea for the festival came from the movie Osmosis Jones.
Bill Murray starred as a compulsive eater with a goal of attending the Super Bowl of junk food, the National Buffalo Wing Festival.
Cerza notes that's when he decided to make it happen back in 2002.
More than 36 tonnes of wings have been trucked in for the weekend festival and that translates to more than half a million wings.
The festivities run August 31st and September 1st at Coca Cola Field in downtown Buffalo
