Ombudsman offers official apology to Durham Cop
Ontario Ombudsman Andre Marin has officially apolgized to a Durham Regional Police officer.
Marin called out Detective-Constable Scott Dennis last week after a tweet, allegedly from Dennis was sent out.
However, after further investigation by the Durham Regional Police Service it was determined the tweet came from another officer using Dennis's account.
Marin said: "In light of this information, I apologize to Det.-Const. Dennis for any distress that my role in this matter may have caused him and his family. I have reached out personally to him to convey my regrets, and I have spoken to his lawyer. I am satisfied that Det.-Const. Dennis is innocent of any wrongdoing in this case."
The investigation continues.
