Jobless numbers up across Niagara
The jobless numbers are out for the month of August.
The unemployment rate for St. Catharines/Niagara is up marginally from 8.3 in July to 8.6 percent, one of the highest rates among the Ontario regions included in the survey.
Only Windsor and Peterborough ranked higher.
The overall rate in the province fell slightly from 7.6 to 7.5 percent.
The national rate sits at 7.1 percent also down by point one percent.
