GranFondo brings major road closures to parts of Niagara
Expect some major road closures tomorrow, as thousands of cyclists take to the streets in Niagara for the inaugural GranFondo bike race.
The September 14th, 125 km ride starts at the Falls, along the Niagara Parkway to Niagara on the Lake.
From there, riders head south to Portage Road, west to the Thorold Tunnel before looping around Short Hills Provincial Park.
Cyclists then return to the Niagara Parkway for the final 10 km trek to the finish line in Niagara Falls.
Organizors say roads including the Parkway and Thorold Tunnel west will be closed for the duration of the ride to create a safe environment for the cyclists.
Signs will also be posted along the route
