Meeting on Shorthills deer hunt tonight
The war of words continues between the Shorthills Wildlife Alliance and the province's Ministry of Natural Resources.
The Ministry has called a public meeting tonight at White Meadows Farm from 6-8 to discuss its decision to allow a second aboriginal deer hunt in the park in November.
But the Alliance, which opposes the hunt, is accusing the ministry of purposely keeping the meeting under wraps.
Alliance spokesperson Robin Zavitz says she was never officially notified about the meeting, adding her group has taken it upon themselves to take out ads in local newspapers.
A spokesperson for the ministry, Jolanta Kowalski says residents were notified about the meeting.
She says a bulletin went out September 6th and that was the same day letters went out to all affected stakeholders.
