NRPS headquarters in Niagara Falls has a builder
Niagara Regional Police Services headquarters in Niagara Falls has a builder.
Regional council has awarded the tender to Carillion Canada for $45.5 million dollars.
Carillion is based out of Concord, Ontario and is recognized as one of Canada’s leaders in public private partnership projects, support Services, development, construction and road Maintenance.
At one point a couple of councillors wanted to reset the budget to $66 million dollars, but in the end council overwhelmingly voted in favour of giving the build to Carillion.
Mayor of Niagara Falls Jim Diodati was pleased with the announcement and says he is looking forward to having shovels in the ground by October, with a ribbon cutting to follow sometime in November.
Diodati was also thrilled they came in way under budget and is glad they can move forward.
He believes the builder will stay within budget.
Diodati says initially he was concerned the price came in around ten percent below the next closest bidder, and typically it is one percent variance.
The new NRPS headquarters in Niagara Falls is scheduled for completion sometime in 2015-16.
