Hudak set to rally Tory troops ahead of vote on another leadership review
Beleagued Tory Leader Tim Hudak will be rallying the Conservative troops today in London, Ont., ahead of a debate that could pave the way for a leadership vote.
Hudak won another mandate handily after the party's 2011 election loss, but a small group of Tories say they want another review.
Party rules require a leadership review after an election defeat, so the group wants to amend the constitution so that a vote can be held at any time.
The proposal, which requires the support of 66 per cent of the 900 party delegates, will be up for debate early this afternoon.
Hudak, who will address the party faithful just before the debate, will have to persuade them to quash it.
One of Hudak's supporters wants to make a ``friendly amendment'' to the motion, requiring that the same rules apply to the party president.
