Another step forward for the Meridian Centre
Steel beams are flying high in St. Catharines. It's another step forward in the progress of the Meridian Centre.
The first truss has been installed at the facility officially bridging the east and west sides of the new arena.
Work crews will be installing eight trusses over the coming weeks, with the last truss scheduled to be in place by early November. Each truss measures 174 feet in length.
Pre-cast concrete stairs for the lower bowl are scheduled to arrive in November.
Developers are hoping the Meridian Centre will be fully enclosed by next Spring, and open in September of 2014.
