Autism Ontario and NRP launching Autism Registry
Niagara Police will soon have a registry of people on the Autism spectrum at their fingertips.
Autism Ontario - Niagara Region Chapter and the NRP partnering today to launch the release of the new Registry for People with Autism
Manager Doug Joyner says this is an initiative that is already working successfully in other communities like Ottawa and Windsor.
He says families can log onto the Autism Ontario Website or the NRP website and follow the link to the registry.
They will then fill out a questionnaire on the child's name, address and personal statistics as well as upload a recent picture of the individual so police officers can see it in their cruiser.
Joyner says it give officers immediate access to valuable information needed in the event of an emergency.
