76-year old St. Catharines man facing several charges
A 76-year old St. Catharines man is facing several charges including forcible confinement after Niagara Regional Police responded to a complaint of an armed person at an apartment complex in the Garden City.
Police were called to Glenridge Avenue at around 5 pm on Monday and received information that the suspect had left the area in a vehicle.
The vehicle was located quickly and stopped at Glenridge and Glendale were the lone male was taken into custody without incident.
The victim who reported the incident was not injured, and police say there were no other parties involved.
Fernand Tomassini is facing forcible confinement, possession of weapons dangerous, pointing a firearm, two counts of uttering threats, impaired operation of a motor vehicle and refusal to provide a breath sample charges.
