OPP aircraft instrumental in stopping the 'need for speed' in and around Niagara
OPP's eye in the sky was busy helping police on the ground put a stop to speeders in the West Lincoln area earlier this week.
On Wednesday, the Niagara detachment of the OPP laid 30 charges thanks in large part to the Aircraft Enforcement Program.
Police charged 17 drivers with speeding.
One driver was nailed for stunt driving, which led to the having their car impounded and the loss of their licence for seven days.
Another driver was clocked at an astonishing 158 km/hr, while other drivers were charged with various highway traffic offences including driving without insurance and driving while under suspension.
OPP aircraft travels throughout the province working with the local OPP officers enforcing the rules of the road, including here in Niagara.
