Oakville gas plant cancellation cost expected today
A highly anticipated auditor general report on the cost of the Liberal government's decision to cancel a gas plant in Oakville is due out today.
The Liberals had pegged cost of cancelling the plant and moving the project to the Kingston area at 40 million dollars, but the Ontario Power Authority said it was closer to 310-million.
An earlier audit put the cost of cancelling the Mississauga gas plant at 275-million.
The opposition parties expect the new audit will send the 585-million dollar total cost of cancelling the two gas plants even higher.
