Questions over new logo process in St. Catharines
Questions being raised about the design of a new logo for St. Catharines.
Councillor Mat Siscoe says the two logos presented to council were voted down Monday night, but his issue lies more with the process.
Siscoe says council decided back in 2012 to turn to the St. Catharines design community to come up with a new logo for the Garden City with a $20 000 budget.
But he says CAO Colin Briggs decided unilaterally the budget wasn't enough and had the logo designed in house instead.
Siscoe takes issue with that saying the CAO doesn't have the ability to change the decision of council.
The logo is now in no man's land, according to Siscoe, with a motion put forward to have the logo discussion included in budget deliberations in the spring with a new price tag of $100 000.
