11 youths facing drug charges in Niagara Falls
11 young offenders are facing drug charges in Niagara Falls.
After recent complaints and concern from area residents, the NRP mobilized the Drummond Hill Cemetery on Thursday.
Police say in an effort to comply with the Youth Criminal Justice Act, parents were notified of the arrests and agreed to an alternative measure in lieu of criminal charges, known as an Extrajudicial Measures Referral.
All of the youth will be required to participate in the community program, designed to keep youth from receiving a criminal record.
To date, officers have arrested more than 50 youth engaged in drug activity since early September of this year.
