The NRP and police agenices across Canada set for Operation Impact
Police across the country, including here in Niagara, will be taking part in Operation Impact this long weekend.
Officers will be out focusing on behaviours that put drivers, passengers and other road users most at risk, including impaired driving, seat belt use, and all aspects related to aggressive and distracted driving.
All enforcement agencies across the country have been invited to participate.
Why this weekend? Because police say most people are traveling for Thanksgiving, and traffic crashes are more frequent.
In 2012 the Niagara Regional Police Service investigated 24 deaths as a result of serious motor vehicle collisions.
