Harper government to deliver throne speech today
Members of Parliament return to work today after an extended summer break ordered by Prime Minister Harper when the Senate spending scandal got hot.
M-Ps will hear the Conservative government lay out its plans for the next two years in a speech from the throne.
Today's speech is expected to focus on the economy and attempts to make a few things better for consumers.
It's also expected to outline how the Tories want to force cable and satellite T-V providers to offer pick-and-pay pricing.
The head of the Canadian Media Production Association says some channels rarely watched by viewers will vanish as a pick-and-pay system comes into place.
