Harper calls four byelections in November
Prime Minister Harper has called four byelections for November 25th.
Two of the votes are shaping up as a battle between the New Democrats and Liberals to show which is the best alternative to Harper's governing Conservatives.
Bob Rae's old Toronto Centre riding and the Montreal riding of Bourassa have long been Liberal, but the NDP is making a big effort to claim them.
Political Science Expert Peter Graefe says with any byelection you shouldn't read too much into the results.
Graefe says voters tend to focus on the local candidate more since they know they aren't electing a leader for the country.
The two other ridings in Manitoba are expected to remain Tory blue.
