NRP officer placed on 12 months probation in assault case
A member of the NRP has been placed on probation for a year after pleading guilty to assaulting a photographer.
Constable Paul Zarafonitis was charged in an assault on photographer Mike Farkas during an alertcation with police at Kool Katts Restauarant in Niagara Falls on May 19th, 2012.
The 32 year old St. Catharines man suffered facial injuries including a broken nose and oribital bone.
Zarafonitis was also ordered to perform 40 hours of community service.
The victim has filed a 750 thousand dollar lawsuit against the force.
