Harper says top aide was dismissed
It is one word that completely changes the picture of what was going on in the Prime Minister's Office earlier this year.
Prime Minister Harper told a Halifax radio show this morning that his former chief of staff Nigel Wright was ``dismissed'' after writing a 90-thousand dollar cheque to repay Senator Mike Duffy's housing expenses.
Up until now, Harper has insisted Wright resigned.
At issue is an alleged coverup in which the PMO paid off Duffy so that he could repay disputed expenses, in return for which a Tory-dominated Senate audit committee would whitewash Duffy's behaviour and make the scandal disappear.
