PM In The AM Blog...Mar 12th 2010: The Best For Last? Well, Favourite Anyway
It's Friday! Which means this will be the end of this week's movie theme.
I've saved my favourite for last. Most definitely one of the best crafted films of all time from top to bottom; from the first draft of the script to the finished on screen product.
I watched this movie again yesterday. It continues to blow me away viewing after viewing after viewing. One of my favourite chracters of all time was finally done some proper justice on the big screen.
I will kill the suspense right now. I'm referring to The Dark Knight, Christopher Nolan's masterpiece follow-up to his excellent Batman Begins franchise reboot.
Unfortunately, we won't ever get to see Heath Ledger reprise the role of The Joker. It's a damned shame too. I'm asking you to indulge me here but Heath Ledger brought "my" Joker to life. The Joker that is so nuts, he's sane. To paraphrase: I'm an agent of Chaos. The thing about Chaos? It's fair.
There's no question Heath's portrayal is dark, dark, dark. However, it is the truest representation of the character I've ever seen. I'm so thankful for that fact.
Again, some of the folk at YouTube have disabled the embedding feature, so for a montage of Heath's on screen brilliance click here.
