Born in Brooks, Alberta, Canada, on March 1, 1973, Ryan Peake is the second guitarist for multi-platinum-selling rock act Nickelback. Claiming Metallica and Megadeth as some of his earliest influences, he befriended the Kroeger brothers (Chad and Mike, that is) at school after his family relocated to the small Alberta farming community of Hanna. The three eventually began playing together in a covers band. In time, that band dissolved and the friends regrouped in 1996 as a post-grunge quartet named Nickelback around original songs Chad Kroeger had written on the side.
